REPORT OF ENVIRONMENTAL DAY
WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL DAY OBSERVED
Omanoor: variety of programmes was conducted in the GVHSS Omanoor on the world Environmental Day under the auspices of NSS Unit. The honorable principal Mr. K.N Abdullah Kutty presided over the function. The programmes were inaugurated by the principal HSS Mrs. Zuhra
Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Lecture in MLT addressed the students emphasizing on the services that they have to render to the society.
Smt.Silja.K.T,Sri.Moh’d Basheer and Smt.Mini felicitated the function. The speech given in Hindi by Hiba.C of 10th std. was new experience to all.
The welcome speech was given by the NSS Programme officer Abdul Muneer.K and Sri. Muhsin. K expressed vote of thanks.
An essay writing competition was conducted on the topic- “Role of students in an Eco-friendly campus”- for students of all the school sections.
Hundreds of saplings were planted in the school compound and students were authorized to take care of each planted saplings.
In the afternoon the students and teachers cleaned the whole campus removing all the plastic waste. About 500 seedlings were distributed among students to be planted in their house premises.
